PADI Tec Gas Blender
The PADI Tec Gas Blender certification course trains you to blend gases used in enriched air diving. After taking this course, you can get a job as a Tec Gas blender, which is very important in dive centers. Enriched air diving is one of the most popular scuba diving activities and you will be supporting such hobby by mixing gases for the divers.
PADI Tec Gas Blender Course
The Tec Gas Blender course usually takes 1 to 2 days to complete. It does not involve any underwater lessons. There will be an independent study through the use of the PADI manual. There will also be a knowledge review with your instructor and practical application sessions.
The Tec Gas blender certification course will specifically teach you the following:
- Different ways to blend gases
- Pros and cons of various blending methodologies
- Blending enriched air and trimix blends to within 1% of the target mix
- Procedures for oxygen cleaning
- Requirements for oxygen service
- Possible hazards in oxygen handling
- Managing hazards in oxygen handling
- Methods of obtaining the desired enriched air nitrox mix
PADI Tec Gas Blender Course Prerequisites
To enroll in the PADI Tec Gas Blender course, you have to be at least 18 years old and a certified PADI Enriched Air Diver. Equivalent certifications from other dive training organizations may also qualify.
PADI Tec Gas Blender Course Equipment
Since no diving is involved in this certification, you do not need to bring your scuba diving gear. The course materials, such as the manual, as well as the oxygen tanks will be provided for you.
