Take diving to a higher and a more professional level by taking the PADI Dive Master course. The PADI Dive Master course will hone your diving skills further and help you become a better, more confident diver. You can work as a DM or dive master after completing the dive master certification.

What is PADI Dive Master Course?

Being the first level in becoming a professional diver, taking the PADI dive master course will further develop the basic diving, problem-solving, and all other skills you previously learned. Thst will make you more confident and more proficient in diving.

During the dive master training, you will learn how to supervise and assist other divers and manage scuba diving activities. You will also learn to assist instructors during diver training.

What does the course cover?

The dive master programs involves knowledge development lessons and diving workshops that help you become a professional diver. The topics include the role and characteristics of being a dive master; managing dive sessions; conducting dive programs, helping out student divers, safety and risk management while diving, search and recovery projects, and more.

If you want to start a job in diving, there also topics on the business and career of diving.

What are the prerequisites in enrolling dive master courses?

To enroll in the course and become a dive master, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • 18 years of age;
  • Certified PADI Advanced and Recue Diver or any equivalent rating;
  • With 40 logged scuba dives to begin training and 60 dives to earn dive master certification;
  • With Emergency First Response (EFR) primary and secondary care (CPR and First Aid) training with in 24 months; and
  • Signed medical clearance within 12 months, which states that you are fit to dive.

How to become a dive master

If you meet all the requirements, you can already start your PADI dive master training. The dive master course usually takes around 3-4 weeks to complete. The course include classroom workshops, as well as about 15 dives for practical application. The classroom workshops may be replaced by PADI’s e-learning program that you can conduct at home. You will then just visit your PADI Dive center for the practical and diving part of the course.

How much does the certification for PADI dive master cost?

The PADI dive master course rates in the Philippines usually range from Php38,000 to PhP60,000. The dive master course here at Sea-explorers costs Php39,900 if you use your own equipment and PhP47,880 if you use our equipment. That price does not include the materials for the course.
