Christian Heim from Switzerland came to the Philippines in 1986 and since then he is a highly active and well known figure as well as one of the most experienced divers and dive operators in the Visayas. In 1989 Chris opened the first dive shop under the name of Sea Explorers at Alona Beach. Cebu Sea Explorer Watersports, Inc. was officially registered as a company in 1993. Chris became a PADI Course Director in 1997 and in 1998 turned Sea Explorers Dauin-Dumaguete into a PADI 5 Star Gold Palm Instructor Development Center, one of the first in the Philippines.

Sea Explorers Philippines has now 5 full dive centers and in 2004 opened Pura Vida Beach & Dive Resort and Spa. Since that time Sea Explorers Dauin-Dumaguete has achieved the highest ranking from PADI as a Career Development Center (CDC).

Since several years Rolf Muehlemann and Martin Nussbaumer are partners of Sea Explorers and also contribute a lot to its successful business in the local dive market. Consistently professional attitude coupled with their natural and casual friendliness continues to make lasting relationships with their many repeating and new guests.
