Moalboal (means "bubbling steam") is a small town in Cebu Island, 89 km south west of Cebu City. Panagsama Beach, which is part of Moalboal and approx. 3 km away from Moalboal Town, turned from an old fishing village to a very popular dive tourist area, because the highlight Pescador Island is just 15 minutes boat ride away.

Getting there: From Cebu City you can reach Moalboal by taxi or bus in approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. From there you can go by Tricycle to Kasai Village Beach Resort or Turtle Bay Dive Resort. Of course, the best, easiest and most comfortable way is to let the Sea Explorers Head Office in Cebu organise the transfer.

Kasai Village Beach Resort

The resort is perfectly suited for diving and other water sports activities. On exciting excursions with jungle trips, cave exploring, motorcycle riding in the mountains, hill walking to the waterfalls and hot springs and much more, you will get to know the diversity of the amazing Island of Cebu. Alternatively, Kasai Village Beach Resort is equally suited for romantics and those who just want to relax. Kasai Village Resort is a very family friendly resort and has its own kiddy-club “Sharkey” with lots of activities for the kids to do during the time their parents going for diving. Babysitter can be arranged upon arrival.

Kasai Village Beach Resort has 9 seaview deluxe rooms and 4 poolside deluxe rooms. All accommodations are spacious and available with either king-size bed and/or twin beds to sleep up to three adults or two adults and two children. All of the accommodations have a balcony in front as well as lounge chairs, tables and other furnishings. They provide a desk with Internet wi-fi access, a mini-bar and much more. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning. Internet wi-fi access in dive shop area is free of charge.

Other facilities include spa services, swimming pool, restaurant, rock bar, retail shop, Internet and phone access as well as a wide range of guest services. The food served at the resort restaurant is an international blend, combining Asian delicacies and flavors with dishes from around the world.

As Kasai Village Beach Resort is an upper class resort there is a surcharge on our regular deluxe prices. Diving will be at the regular Sea Explorers rate.

Dive Center

The state of the art dive center is located within the Kasai Village Beach Resort and offers professional dive services. The dive center is neither owned nor directly managed by Sea Explorers but we will supervise its quality regularly.

Turtle Bay Dive Resort

The Turtle Bay Dive Resort was opened its doors in 2008 and is located at Tongo Point, directly on the rocky shore close to Moalboal Bay. The well maintained resort is set in a 7’500 sqm landscaped grounds and offers a comfortable Atmosphere. The resort is managed by Chris White and his wife Fe.

All 23 deluxe rooms are spacious and have en suite bathroom with hot water shower, ceiling fan, mini-bar and private terrace or balcony. For certain rooms there will be a surcharge. No standard (fan) category is being offered.

Other facilities include a 19m swimming pool, bar, restaurant, gym, games room, massage services, wifi Internet, etc. The restaurant offers excellent local and international dishes.

Dive Center

The state of the art dive center is located within the Turtle Bay Dive Resort and offers professional dive services. It is owned and managed by the proprietor of Turtle Bay Dive Resort Chris White and his son John. Sea Explorers performs regular quality assurance on spot (dive center is not owned nor directly managed by Sea Explorers).

Two native outrigger boats take the guests to the most beautiful divesites in the close area.

Dive Sites around Moalboal (south to north)

SAMPAGUITA

This dive spot we can call “House Reef” of Turtle Bay Dive Resort. Sampaguita is a drop off, it goes down to approx. 40 m. There are a lot of small caves and overhangs in the wall, in the caves we are able to see some different groupers. The wall is scattered with small gorgonias where we can discover pygmy seahorses sometimes. Good place for all levels of divers and especially for night and macro dives as well.

TONGO POINT

It is an excellent spot for deep as well as for shallow dives. It goes down to 40 meters. On this point we have a great possibility to see turtles. Also any kind of coral fish, sea anemones and soft as well as hard corals. Sometimes you can see also a whaleshark.

TALISAY

Talisay is a drop-off, goes down to 40m, after that a sandy slop area starts. In a depth of 20 to 30m you can find a big variety of hard & soft corals, black corals and sponges anywhere. In the shallow part you can find a lot of small attractive things like nudibranches, shrimpfish, frogfish and so on. An ideal place for training, fun and night dives and macro photography.

SAAVEDRA MARINE SANCTUARY (RONDA BAY)

Descending along a slope, at about 20 meters we reach the drop off. On the wall one of the most beautiful gorgonian forests in the whole area mixed with big black coral bushes. Very often the cute long nose hawk fish are seen here. On the second half of the dive nice coral formations with many bigger groupers and sweetlips.

PESCADOR ISL.

We can reach this highlight of this area in about fifteen minutes by boat. Spectacular wall diving with big fish schools, sometimes sharks and barracudas. Beautiful coral gardens with a large variety of coral fishes, very often giant frogfishes and turtles. The special place called CATHEDRAL, exciting vertical tunnel to dive through starting from 15 down to 35 meters. For more experienced divers.
